Why Did Obama Want Communist Honduras President Reinstated?

In both cases, he was trying to stand on the principle of defending democracy. It seems like a reasonable position to me. If Obama were deposed from office in a coup, I would stand up against it, too. It doesn't matter what I think about the man, it's a question of principle that the people have a right to choose their leaders through democratic means.
