Is it normal when you have an ovarie removed to get hot flashes..which my doctor did not know when she removed

only one of my ovaries and couldn't find the other..which i wonder why she couldn't find it? If i known that I would of not had my one good ovary removed. I am 50. I was fine after the surgery until the 3rd week from healing from my Hysterectomy with the ovarie thing...so now she has to do a blood test to see where my hormone levels are.
