In The Cather in the Rye, describe Holden's views of society and childhood innocence in the opening chapters?

Holden feels that everyone in society is "phony" later on in the book when you find out he wants to be the catcher in the rye, he wants to save the innocence of the children and protect the children of society from ever becoming fake/phony.
