How do I empty my pond of water.?

I inherited a pond which is at the bottom of my 100ft garden. The pond has a pump for the waterfall, and filter. No fish alas they went with the previous owners. I want to drain and fill in to use as a patio. But I would die having to bale it and run to the house to empty the bucket!
