How to deal with guests who help themselves?

the next time he does that tell him to stop and explain that in this house he is a guest and if he would like something to ask. very possibly his parents have not taught him proper manners - sadly it happens a lot today. don't get mad at him though - he probably has no clue what he's doing is seen as wrong and inappropriate!
